    Text (PC+errata): Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated. That creature's controller puts a 3/3 green Ape creature token onto the battlefield. [Oracle 2009/07/08]
  • The token creature is put into play even if the creature isn't destroyed (because it is indestructible, for example). [Planar Chaos FAQ 2006/12/13]
